Weston, MO Family Session | The Spencers

Am I the only one who relates memories or situations to songs? While editing the Spencer’s family and maternity session, I couldn’t think of a song released when I was a teenager by the Savage Garden called “I Knew I Loved You”.

More on that in a minute.

When you look at the photos below, you see a gorgeous family, perfectly put together. Coordinating outfits, beautiful smiling faces, every hair in place.

You can also see the love overflowing. The genuine happiness to be together.

What you can’t see it the process to get to this point. The hoping, the praying. The trusting in God even when things didn’t make sense. The sticking together, and choosing to seek the joy in life, even when there was sadness and loss all around.

In a few shorts months, a rainbow girl will be added to this group, and she couldn’t be more loved.

And this song could have been written just for her.

“There's just no rhyme or reason,
Only the sense of completion,
And in your eyes,
I see the missing pieces I'm searching for,
I think I've found my way home,
I know that it might sound
More than a little crazy but I believe,

I knew I loved you before I met you,
I think I dreamed you into life.
I knew I loved you before I met you,
I have been waiting all my life.

A thousand angels dance around you,
I am complete now that I've found you.

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life.”
